The Stroke Program at Parker Adventist Hospital is a multi-disciplinary approach that provides stroke treatment according to nationally accepted standards and recommendations. Parker’s program is proud to participate in the American Stroke Association’s Get with the Guidelines treatment protocols. Stroke patients taken to hospitals that follow these guidelines had a better chance of survival than patients taken elsewhere, according to a study published in February 2010.
The Stroke Program at Parker Adventist Hospital Provides:
- Immediate evaluation and treatment of all patients with stroke related symptoms.
- 24/7 Neurology Coverage, including ability to administer tissue plasminogen activator (tPA), a clot-busting drug
- 24/7 Neurosurgery for hemorrhagic stroke patients.
- Education to promote stroke awareness and prevention
- Comprehensive rehabilitation services, including speech, physical and occupational therapy in one location on the hospital campus
- Recurrent Stroke Prevention Program
