    Mammography Guidelines Statement:

Dr. Monique Fox, Dr. Christine Rogness, and Dr. Nadine Mikhaeel- physicians on medical staff at the Trio Breast Center - understand the complexity regarding the controversial recommendations recently released by the US Preventive Services Task Force. We continue to recommend screening mammography on an annual basis beginning at the age of 40, in accordance with the guidelines established by the American Cancer Society. We realize this may cause confusion and great concern to the women in our community. It is our belief that the best decisions regarding a woman's health should be founded on the partnership between the woman and her physician. Ultimately, what is decided should be based on evidence-based medicine and the unique qualities of every patient. That is why we are here, to support you and help you understand the issues surrounding this controversy.  We will aid you in making the very best decision for you as a patient. Please contact us should you have any questions, concerns, or needs regarding this.  We are here for you.

The American College of Surgeons (ACoS) recently released comments strongly supporting current American Cancer Society (ACS) screening mammography guidelines. The College is supporting the ACS guidelines despite the recent recommendations from the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force.
