We offer a wide variety of health programs to help members of our community improve their health. Our Body of Knowledge seminars offer one-time programs on many specialty areas. BODY OF KNOWLEDGE Seminars
Make an appointment with the experts at Parker Adventist Hospital to become more body-wise! All seminars are FREE, but registration is required by calling 303-777-6877, ext. 1. Seminars are held in the Garden Level Conference Rooms. Guests are encouraged to use the complimentary valet services at the main entrance for daytime seminars as parking can be limited.
Womens Health 101 – Feb. 24, 6:30 to 8 p.m.

From puberty to menopause and beyond. Join OB/GYN Dr. Juliet Leman as she discusses what every woman should know and do to stay healthy. Topics include menopause, menstrual disorders, HPV, abnormal pap smears, osteoporosis and valuable information on the latest screening recommendations.
Colon Cancer, Polyps and Diverticulitis – Mar. 16, 12 to 1:30 p.m.

Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths, yet among the most treatable of all cancers if caught early. Join colorectal surgeon Dr. Lisa Perryman to learn if you are at risk, how to reduce that risk, and how a colonoscopy can save your life.

Sinusitis and Other Nasal Disorders – Mar. 22, 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Sinus infections, nose bleeds and hay fever are all common nasal disorders. Ear, nose and throat specialist Dr. Stephen Batuello discusses the latest treatments, including new balloon sinuplasty. (See related story on page 2.)
Breast Cancer: Expert Panel Discussion – Mar. 24, 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Join three leading experts in a discussion on breast cancer to learn the latest in prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Monique Fox, breast radiologist; Dr. Christine Rogness, breast surgeon; and Dr. Nadine Mikhaeel, oncologist, will discuss these advancements, along with the controversial new breast screening guidelines.
Free Cholesterol Testing
March 4 – 7 to 10 a.m. Parker Adventist Hospital, Garden Level Conference Rooms.
Get a complete cholesterol profile, including HDL, LDL and triglyceride levels. Fasting is required. Screenings are limited to the first 500 to register; mandatory reservations must be made prior to March 1. For more information or to register, call 303-777-6877, ext. 1.
$99 heart scans
A coronary artery calcium screen is a scan of your heart that can help doctors look for deadly plaque buildup. From Feb. 1–March 19, you can get this screening for $99 (normally $333) at Parker Adventist Hospital. A physician’s referral is recommended but not required. Childbirth and Family Education Classes
Whether you're a first time parent, want to help siblings welcome a new baby or have an older child ready to babysit, The BirthPlace has a variety of childbirth classes to meet your needs.
We offer the following childbirth classes throughout the year:

Cholesterol and Pre-Diabetes Education
You will learn about preventing diabetes and controlling cholesterol through diet and exercise. This class is for the prevention of diabetes and high cholesterol and is not recommended for people who already have diabetes. A physician's referral is NOT required for this one-day class.

Insulin Injection Class
Learn how to self administer insulin injections in this one-hour, hands-on class. A physician's referral is required to attend this class. Parker Hospital's scheduling department will work with you and your insurance company to gain authorization to attend the course. If you choose to pay out of pocket, your fee will be discounted. In this series of classes you will learn about diabetes, nutritional management, physical activity, medications and monitoring. A physician's referral is required to attend this class.
