Breast cancer is being found in younger women at earlier stages. The number of breast cancer cases in women under the age of 50 has increased by 50 percent in the past few years, says Monique Fox, M.D., a fellowship-trained breast radiologist with The Trio Breast Center at Parker Adventist Hospital. Experts do not believe there is an increase in the number of cancer cases, but rather that the cancers are being detected earlier.
