Adventist - What's in a name?

Adventist - What's in a name?

You may have noticed the word "Adventist" in the name of this hospital and might be wondering what that means.

Parker Adventist Hospital is an Adventist Health System (AHS) hospital. AHS is the largest not-for-profit Protestant health care system in the United States. As Jesus served without discrimination, Adventist hospitals welcome all people, regardless of culture, religion, race or background.
In Colorado, Parker Adventist Hospital has partnered with eleven other hospitals around the state to form the Centura Health family of hospitals. Centura Health is the largest health care system in Colorado.

Adventists, the shortened form of "Seventh-day Adventists," are one of the most rapidly growing Christian denominations in the world, with more than 14 million members across the globe. They run a worldwide system of schools, hospitals and clinics, as well as a disaster relief agency that works with the governments of more than 100 countries. But, who are Adventists and what do they believe? What does it really mean to be an Adventist?

The every-day of being an Adventist is really pretty simple. It means believing and accepting the grace, hope and forgiveness that God offers each person. It means extending that grace, hope and forgiveness to others. It means serving others as Jesus did, compassionately and without judgment. That's what we do at Parker Adventist Hospital and that's what we'll strive to do for you.
