Take Riding Seriously!
While riding horses can be fun and enjoyable, it can be dangerous for both adults and children if not taken seriously.
- Horses are large animals and must be respected. Riders should know proper horse handling techniques before riding or even grooming a horse.
- NEVER approach a horse from behind! A spooked horse may kick and cause serious injury. The force of a kick is concentrated in the relatively small surface area of the hoof. While there is no usual injury from a kick, any bone that is struck is likely to fracture and if that kick is to the abdomen or chest there is a significant risk of internal injuries.
- If you are a beginner, take lessons, this will make riding more rewarding and enjoyable.
