Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Level IIIA NICU | Parker Adventist Hospital | Parker, Colorado

Parker's Level IIIA NICU is designed with special equipment to care for premature, low-birth-weight or seriously ill newborn babies. It is staffed with specially trained medical personnel who specialize in caring for high-risk infants.

Parker Adventist’s NICU offers a level of advanced treatment capability that is rare for a hospital of its size with medical professionals who take pride in the advanced, high-quality care they provide.

  • Every Birthplace nursing shift includes at least one NICU nurse — someone certified at the highest level of neonatal care.
  • Availability of a neonatal nurse practitioner from The Children’s Hospital, around the clock, seven days a week.
  • Presence of trained pediatric hospitalists (pediatricians who work only in a hospital) and pediatric emergency physicians from The Children’s Hospital so newborn babies at Parker benefit from ready access to some of the finest pediatric care available in the state.
  • State-of-the-art equipment. One of the most advanced and most baby friendly features is the giraffe bed, of which our NICU has three. Research shows that the Giraffe beds can reduce an infant’s hospital stay by three days.
