  • The Cancer Center at Parker Adventist Hospital is equipped with the latest radiation therapy technology and equipment, including the advanced Varian TrueBeam™ linear accelerator that allows us to target and treat various forms of cancer with pinpoint accuracy.

    • Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) and Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) that delivers high intensity beams of energy directly to a tumor while sparing healthy tissue
    • Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) that offers fast, precise, non-invasive treatment for tumors located throughout the body including difficult to operate regions such as the lungs, brain and spinal cord
    • Arc-based treatment that delivers radiation therapy in a fraction of the time of standard radiation oncology equipment

    All of these services are offered on the Parker Adventist Hospital campus and delivered in an integrated and coordinated model of care.

  • Andrew S. Tanner, MD - Radiation OncologistDr. Tanner completed his medical residency at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York and became board certified by the American Board of Radiology (Radiation Oncology). Dr. Tanner joined Midwest Radiation Oncology Consultants and practiced at both Northern Illinois Center for Cancer Care and St. Joseph's Cancer Center where he was appointed Medical Director. Additionally, Dr. Tanner was a founding partner at the Chicago Prostate Center and has performed many prostate implants. An active participant of several professional organizations, Dr. Tanner was a member of the Board of Directors of the McHenry Chapter of the American Cancer Society and chairman of the Cancer Care Committee of Northern Illinois. After spending eighteen years with Midwest Radiation Oncology Consultants, Dr. Tanner realized a lifelong dream of relocating to Colorado to spend the second half of his medical career.

    Dr. Tanner joined Rocky Mountain Cancer Center as the Director of Radiation Oncology at the Colorado Springs Cancer Center in 2006. He maintains a broad range of clinical expertise in all aspects of Radiation Oncology. Dr. Tanner is especially interested in the advantages of state of the art technology that affords patients the highest quality of care. At Parker Adventist Cancer Center there is a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, where medical, surgical and radiation specialists collaborate in the delivery of comprehensive treatment planning, from the initial diagnosis throughout the course of treatment and follow-up. Dr. Tanner recently joined the team at Parker Adventist Cancer Center and he looks forward to building and expanding the practice to afford the patients the highest level of care.
