• Neurological Rehabilitation

  • At the Centura Health Center for Therapy at Parker Adventist Hospital, we understand the challenges encountered by patients with neurological disorders.

    We take a multi-disciplinary approach to help patients achieve their highest level of function and independence. By offering all three rehabilitation disciplines in one location, our physical, occupational, and speech therapists provide a comprehensive evaluation and personalized treatment program to meet each person's needs.

    We work together to treat and manage the following: 

    • Mobility and balance deficits
    • Motor control due to decreased coordination
    • Urinary and fecal incontinence
    • Fine motor control issues, such as difficulty with writing and manipulating buttons
    • Sensory loss, such as impaired or loss of feeling in a limb
    • Weakness or diminished strength
    • Muscle tightness limiting joint motion
    • Activities of daily living, such as difficulty with dressing, hygiene or driving
    • Perceptual and visual deficits, such as a visual field cut or unilateral neglect
    • Cognitive impairment, including difficulties in memory, attention, judgment and problem solving as well as slow processing
    • Speech/voice issues, such as slurred and slowed speech, low vocal volume, shortness of breath, monotone speech and nasal voice
    • Language issues, such as difficulty reading, writing, and finding or understanding words
    • Swallowing challenges, such as difficulty chewing and swallowing, coughing when eating or drinking, and drooling

    • Balance training, including the use of a Nintendo Wii balance board
