was named Chief Nursing Officer and VP of Patient Care Services of Parker
Adventist Hospital on August 17, 2015.
Pat has a wealth of experience in
nursing. She previously served as chief nursing officer at Monroe Carell
Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tenn., from 2002-2009.
At Vanderbilt, she was responsible for leading patient care services including
emergency and trauma, newborn and neonatal, respiratory therapy, pharmacy and
radiology. As a member of the leadership team, she contributed to the design,
operational planning, and implementation of Children’s Hospital relocation to a
free-standing facility in 2004.
In 2009, Pat joined Children’s
Hospital Colorado as associate chief nursing officer and vice president of
patient care services. There, she was responsible for strategic planning,
administrative and operational leadership for the Division of Nursing and
Patient Care Services. She helped lead their Magnet redesignation efforts which
was attained in 2011. Pat helped Children’s achieve a more than 20 percent
reduction in hospital acquired conditions for two consecutive years and
led the coordination of incident command response for community disasters and
Pat is a registered nurse and holds a
master’s degree in education from Harvard University. She received her Doctor
of Health Administration degree in 2009. Pat has served as an instructor,
lecturer, and assistant professor at numerous universities.
In her role at Parker Adventist
Hospital, Pat is responsible and accountable for leading hospital clinical
operations, setting standards for nursing care and practice, ensuring
compliance with regulatory standards, and she holds an active leadership role
in achieving organizational goals.
